Social Anxiety Therapy

Do I have social anxiety? How do I fix my social anxiety?

If you have social anxiety, questions like these may be common. We're here to help.

Social anxiety may include thinking symptoms (like recurring anxious thoughts or the idea that anxiety is uncontrollable and inevitable) and feeling symptoms (like sweating, trembling, blushing or a racing heart). If you have social anxiety, you may find yourself caught in a painful feedback loop: your anxiety may make socializing more difficult, which creates even more fear.

With social anxiety, you may feel shame, embarrassment, frustration and hopelessness. When you're ready, we're here to support you with science-backed therapy.

Cyberchondria

Are you familiar with cyberchondria?

Cyberchondria is a relatively new term that combines two familiar words: “cyber” and “hypochondriasis.” It describes online searches that grow feelings of anxiety or distress related to health.

People with cyberchondria may experience anxiety, obsession, fear, compulsive searching, or a need for certainty. They may repeatedly search for symptoms, or they may attempt to diagnose themselves without input from a trained professional.

Paradoxically, for people with cyberchondria, digital searches often make symptoms worse. Some may stop trusting doctors, therapists, or other medical providers. Others may develop one-sided (“parasocial”) relationships with online health influencers. It is also common to struggle with distinguishing credible health information from misinformation.

If any of this sounds like you, a loved one, or a patient, please know that help is here.

At Therapy 2.0, we work with individuals, healthcare providers, and institutions. If you’re looking for support in treating or managing cyberchondria, reach out today for your free consultation.

Anxiety Therapy & Autism

Neurodiverse-affirming anxiety therapy near me. Therapy for autistic anxious people. Autistic anxiety therapy.

Does your google search history look like this? If so, you're 100% in the right place.

Many autistic people have anxiety, but not all anxiety therapy is equal. We pledge to acknowledge your experiences. We'll also provide direct and respectful feedback if you have a 'blind spot' that may be impacting your progress.

Anxiety and autism are frequently found together. A major study found 40-50% of autistic people also receive an anxiety diagnosis. This overlap should not be surprising, as people with autism may seek out consistency; this need for planned, predictable experiences may feel at odds with the random, unplanned social interaction many of us experience day to day.

If you'd like to get started with a neurodiverse-affirming therapist who understands the many links between anxiety and autism, reach out. We pledge to listen, care and respect your needs.

Why should I choose neurodiverse-affirming therapy?

Why should you choose a neurodiverse-affirming therapy practice?

  • An open & inquisitive mindset: Neurodiverse-affirming therapy does not assume you think or operate in a “standard” way. Neurodivergent people often experience the world differently, and our open-ended, curious approach can challenge default assumptions. This process supports insight and growth for neurodivergent and neurotypical individuals.

  • A focus on environments, systems and contexts: Neurodivergent people frequently have to navigate environments that were not designed with them in mind. Rather than locating challenges solely within you, neurodiversity-affirming therapy explores how external systems and contexts contribute to your well-being. This perspective builds self-compassion and empathy, and it spurs the development of unique-to-you tools, strategies and supports.

  • Strengths-focused: Feeling different can make it difficult to recognize your strengths. Neurodiverse-affirming therapy helps you identify and amplify what you do well and what you take pride in. This, quite clearly, can have significant positive therapeutic benefits!
